Coming from a clinical care background, Jean-Yves Gerbet quickly turned to hospital logistics, particularly patient transport. At the Dijon University Hospital, he first worked in operational roles, both in emergency medical services (SMUR) and conventional hospital transport, before successively becoming a trainer, transport coordinator, and head of department. He concluded his career there as an engineer in charge of patient transport and its information system. He also served on a special assignment with the Bourgogne Franche-Comté Regional Health Agency (ARS), supporting healthcare institutions in implementing their digital platforms.
Over 40 years at Dijon University Hospital, he developed rare expertise. The institution is now recognized as a national benchmark in the management and coordination of patient flow logistics.
A member of the ANAP (National Agency for Performance Support) expert network, he contributed to the writing of technical publications and actively participates in on-site support initiatives benefiting healthcare institutions across France.
Now retired, he continues to teach hospital logistics at the University of Dijon and works as a consultant and expert for healthcare facilities and regional health agencies.
